Kasey Kahne Taking Lessons...

Is Kasey Kahne taking lessons from the ultimate child on the race track? That move against Carl Edwards today was more than slightly reminiscent of a Brad Keselowski temper tantrum. C'mon Kahne, you've got more class in your little finger than BK has in his entire body on a normal day, but today you choose to act like a 2 year old who didn't get a pack of gum at the check out counter?

While I admit that Edwards screwed up to begin with, he didn't intentionally shove your car into the wall. NASCAR should fine your ass for the retaliation, give you a grand lecture and put you on probation.  But alas, it won't even get you a light cuff to the back of the head. Good thing your name isn't Stewart or Busch, huh?

Nintendo 3DS XL

I'm going to rant for just a minute about the inevitable greed of all companies as they grow. Nintendo just happens to be the lucky one who pushed my last button today, and so the focus will land on them, their product and the utterly ridiculous way they force the consumer to purchase necessary "accessories" that are sold separately as a way to increase their profit margins.

Yes, I am familiar with the statement buyer beware and read before you buy. But I would never have thought that an item such as the 3DS would require you to buy the charger separately. That's a bit like buying a cell phone that doesn't come with a charger or a PS 4 without a power cord. You can't use it without power, right?

Nintendo needs to get their head out of their ass. A game system without a power source is not a system but instead it is just a component. At $200, who the hell cares if they up the price 10 bucks more? Add the charger, up the price a few bucks and start adding some customer service to your line up.

Skinnie Genie Review

Everyone has heard of the Genie Bra. They are sold on TV, in drug stores across America, available on Amazon...yada, yada, yada...

Whether you are a fan or not (and I most definitely am!), you may not have tried some of their newer products such as the Cami Shaper or the Skinnie Genie. As I write this post, I am wearing a one size fits most, raspberry colored one. Now, don't get your shape wear in an uproar guys and gals. I have not been paid to review this thang, nor was it given to me. I bought it with my very own hard earned money, and I'm going to give it one very honest review. So read on...

On a Kooky scale of 1~5, comfort is a good solid 4. It isn't the softest material on Earth, but it goes on easily and moves with you. Kind of like a second skin...it's just there.

It isn't going to shrink any of those hideous bulges or hide any of our fat, though. It will function as a great layering piece under a dress, a jacket or a tank, but that's about it!

The color is bright and deep. I'll update once I wash it to see how the holds up.  I'll add a few before and after pics for you guys too.

Overall, it is a cute little piece to have, but it isn't worth $19.99. Wait for a sale on these,. They will have one...just you wait and see!

Sweet 16!

Oh how I missed you Sweet 16!!

Actually, that's an outright lie...

I did not miss the age of 16. My third child is about to turn 16. Tomorrow is the magical day. It's exciting for her, but just a bit scary for me. A whole new world opens up for both of us. Driving, dating, working. I do not want my baby girl to become any more independent than she already is.

I know. I need to let go a little. I don't want to. I am NOT ready for this. She suddenly cares about fashion, makeup and oh my GOD...her eyebrows!!!

As a side note: I hate the Narwhals. It was catchy the first 50 times. Now it's annoying. Yes, it's playing on the TV while I type. UGH!
Anyway, back to the original rant. 16?!! Where did the time go?

So, I'm going to take a page from my own mother's book. I am going to put on my big girl panties and enjoy my daughter's new found interest in all things GIRL. 16? Was it fun the first time around? It sure as hell was. When it was me driving my parents nuts.

Carpet Fresh Made Easy - Clean & Healthy Family Living

In the last few years, I've been on a quest to get rid of the harsh cleaning supplies and chemicals in my house. I can't be classified as a fanatic when it comes to this, but I am more than mildly committed to the mission. My children all have some form of asthma. The very nature of most cleaners aggravates their condition enough that they cannot be in the same room when I am cleaning. It makes it difficult to get things done, and harder to give them chores and teach responsibility.

One of them is also allergic to the preservatives found in almost every household cleaner, shampoo, conditioner and makeup on the market today. All she needs to do is touch a spot that is wet, or be near the stuff when it gets sprayed, and it results in a mind-numbing reaction within an hour or two that includes skin rashes, swollen eyes, sores on her mouth and breathing issues. And so I find myself having to read every single label before I purchase a product because of this allergy. It adds so much time to the shopping trip that it's worth it for me to find a more natural, healthy way to just do it myself. It benefits all of us in the long run anyway!

This recipe is so simple and inexpensive. It uses baking soda and the essential oil of your choice. My preference is Lavender Essential Oil for the health benefits it provides as well as the excellent scent! You can mix this up ahead of time and store it in a glass jar until you need it, or you can mix just before you want to use it. Either way, you might want to plan a few extra minutes to just sit and breathe before you vacuum it up!

1.5 Cup Baking Soda
10-20 Drops Essential Oil
Mix well! Sprinkle lightly on carpet. Relax, breathe deeply, drink a cup of coffee or tea!
Vacuum carpet well.

That's it! Easy, peasy...

*Remember to keep pets & children away from this and all cleaning supplies.

Our Journey Begins Again...

It's taken me almost two years...

608 days since my son last told me he loved me. 1 year and 8 months since I waved goodbye, told him to be careful and sent him off to work with the expectation that I would see him that night...hear the stories of the stupid things people do while trying to "get away" without having to pay for their items in a store...while he ate the dinner that we had saved for him.

...the list goes on and on. It's taken me this long to decide I might want to seriously write again, that I might want to actually live my life instead of just walk through it in a daze, that he would be ready to boot me in the ass and tell me to get on with it.

I am ready to take back my life, to live it in spite of the heartache that I live with every day. Because I have too. My son would want me to do it, and do it right. If the shoe were on the other foot, and I was the one watching from up above, I'd be throwing an ever loving fit every day of the week if he didn't get on with his life.

We can't live in the past. There is only today. Tomorrow is not a guarantee.
